Ready to Move

After weeks of continual boat jobs we are finally ready to leave Yacht Port Cartagena and go sailing.  Our plan is to meander up the coast then at some point hop over to the Balearics.  This sailing season we would like to explore Corsica, Sardinia and the Balearics before heading back to Yacht Port Cartagena for another winter season.

Before the long list started with earnest (to be fair we have had 18months to do a lot of these but didn’t!) my Mum and Aunt came to visit for a long weekend which was lovely.  They had good weather which this year in April wasn’t a given on the Costa Calida.

I have created a couple of videos on the boat and various jobs that we have been doing.  You can see them here on my You Tube channel.

I have quite a list of sewing jobs done for the boat including water carrier covers, paint box cover, outboard engine cover, halyard bags, a replacement bag for the shopping trolley, new privacy curtains in the heads (loo) dinghy under seat pocket, remade the sail covers, adjusted a sun shade for the deck while on anchor ……..  All of this done with my domestic Brother sewing machine.  We did however take the opportunity to get a Singer Heavy Duty (4423) machine at a good price ready for the winter jobs which include adding zips to the sides of the heavier sunshade that we had up all last year.

While we are sailing we don’t anticipate being very active on social media as we will be saving most of our data package for weather forecasts.  However, when possible I will update The Gleda Project Facebook page which you can find here and if we are lucky enough to find a comfortable bar/cafe with a fast connection maybe some more You Tube videos.

We are both ready to move, do some sailing and find new places.  I am really looking forward to crystal clear waters for swimming and dark starry nights when the sky looks like someone has thrown glitter across the heavens.

Hope you all have great fun whatever you will be doing over the next season.
