What a Great Week
I’ve had a really good week this Easter. Mum came down to visit and although she didn’t stay on the boat, we did go out for a sail on Easter Day and ate on board most nights. The weather was perfect spring weather. Blue skies and light, if any wind. Although it was cold at night with ice on deck in the morning, the days were warm.
We didn’t go far Easter Day, just out into the bay. There wasn’t much wind but it was the first time we had been out since arriving in the marina last October.
We had friends from the marina on board Monday evening for farewell drinks. We have made some new friends and look forward to seeing them out and about.
On the Tuesday we went to St Ives, somewhere Mum hadn’t been before. We had crab sandwiches for lunch on the sea front.
Wednesday evening we ate at the Pandora Inn at Restronguet Creek. Such an idyllic place and a great meal. Too cold to eat outside on the pontoon but lovely in the bar near the wood burner.
Back to Leamington and on Sunday Mum and I went to a surprise tea party for my Aunt who has been given the all clear after months of chemotherapy. Great to see so many of the family there.
Here’s to more great weeks. If you are wondering, I have left Neil “up the creek”.
