I thought it only fair to update the original post and add the comments here:-

update 8th Aug 2015:  from comment that Dody, Nazare resident made on blog post ’Taking a Break’ on www.thegledaproject.com:-  there are 8 butchers shops in Nazare, a large fruit/veg/fish/meat market plus other larger supermarkets including a Lidl.  It’s just a matter of knowing where they are

Dody felt bad that she hadn’t shared this information with us when we met her.  However, we should have asked questions about what we were looking for.  It was thanks to the information Dody gave us that we stayed more than one night and went for a look around Nazare.  Local information is great and we should take advantage more often and not be afraid to ask.

Thanks for your help Dody, and I’m sorry we won’t be coming back North to the Regatta in Nazare next weekend.  I hope you all have a great time.
